Itinerary

  • Departure from Matera at 09.00: Meet your guide at your Hotel for an early morning departure.

  • Altamura: During this walking tour you will be able to admire the extraordinary artistic and cultural heritage that characterizes Altamura: its characteristic alleys still reveal their medieval imprint. In this same area you will be able to see the splendid Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, built in Romanesque and Gothic style in 1254 at the behest of Emperor Frederick II of Swabia. Also in the historic center you will have the opportunity to admire the claustri, a symbol of the mix of different cultures that have distinguished the city over the centuries.

  • Casal Dragone To get to know all the nuances of a territory, you need to add a culinary experience to your stay. From taralli to richly seasoned bruschetta, from stuffed focaccia to platters of cured meats and cheeses, from vegetables to wines: everything you will find in this tasting menu is produced at km 0.

  • Gravina: Gravina is a city located on the edge of a canyon, nestled in the Alta Murgia Geopark, famous for its crevasses, its natural caves and its terraces in mid-air. Here is the splendid Norman Cathedral dedicated to the Virgin Mary of the Assumption. After visiting this important religious building dating back to the 11th century, you will look out over the Gravina canyon from the belvedere for a first memorable look at the city's nature. The guided tour continues through the streets of the historic center and crossing the Piaggio district you will finally reach the Aqueduct Bridge. This bridge is the point of connection between the rock habitat and the built city, and thanks to its dreamlike setting it has been chosen on several occasions as a film set, in particular you can see the bridge "in action" in the trailer filmed in Gravina: James Bond - No time to die🎬.
